SIN MANAGEMENT.
let me repeat that, christianity does not mean sin management.
simple concept.
We are humans. we sin. we are gonna blow it. no doubt about that.
and as a disclaimer, it is not okay to sin.
(now the legalist kids cant yell at me, although we love you a lot)
in Psalms, it says, "The lord knows we are weak, he knows we are only dust."
and if you think you dont sin, (a few people have told us this), you are kidding yourself.
and because we are children of god, saved by grace, set up as a friend and co hier, when we sin, it feels like crap. because the holy spirit is in us, and thats called conviction. and its a good thing. if you sin, and you know its sin, and you dont feel at all bad, please contact us, we have someone we would like you to meet.( it might be jesus)
BUT-
the point of this thing, of christianity, is not trying your hardest not to sin.
here IS the point: JUST LOOK AT JESUS.
Sin comes at us from all sides, trying to knock us off course. but Jesus is straight ahead. The point is to keep your eyes on him, and keep chasing after him, cause he is beautiful, and so worth it.
thats right, falling in love with Jesus will take care of your sin problem.
the more focus and energy you give our lord, the less you will want to sin. dont put your focus on trying not to sin, or how much you suck. that will do nothing but allow the enemy to drag you down in a pit of guilt and self loathe.
its all about what you give your energy, focus, and heart to.
and Jesus is the only good thing. even before trying to be good.
complex? not really.
controversial? pretty much.
Gods heart making tiny revolutions in our hearts? you betcha.
I love you guys.

if i may add to the entry, having conviction in your heart is a product of our consciences, a gift of God.
Unlike guilt, where we feel something bad and we don't really think we can do anything about it, conviction lets us know that there IS something we can do about it. The choice to act upon it is still ours, but the Holy Spirit still goads us to do good, all while still allowing us our free will.
On a side note, having a conscience is also one of the many ways that proves God exists. But if I wrote about that, this comment would be way long. Ask me about it sometime, and I can write about it in my blog.
Okay, enough being technical, but I thought i'd throw in some slightly deeper insight.
